I'd include many short stories by Jorge Borges, most notably The Library of Babel, The Aleph, Death and the Compass, Funes the Memorious, The Disk, The Lottery of Babylon, The Garden of Forking Paths, Tlon Uqbar Orbis Tertius, The Circular Ruins, and The Book of Sand. Really, though, pretty much any of Borges's stories are rewarding and many have mathematical ideas interlaced.

Although he has his critics, I'd also recommend Guillermo Martinez's The Oxford Murders.

I've read Flatland, but had a hard time with the blatant sexism in it. I've not read either FlatterLand or SphereLand, though I have copies on my shelf. (What is the point of a bookshelf if you've read everything on it?)

It is probably time to revisit those.

Excellent article and very interesting. Have you looked at the classical example of FlatLand (and the more modern Sequel, FlatterLand)? Flatland is an excellent works of political commentary that makes extensive use of mathematics.
